In April 1946, this amazing new, functional and innovative mode of transport was presented to the general public for the first time in a Golf Club in Rome. The shield was embossed with a new logo which replaced the previous Piaggio Aircraft emblem. Vespa was an immediate success and gained extensive media interest as well as public curiosity, surprise and even skepticism.

Uno “sciame” da tutta Europa che si è dato appuntamento a Salsomaggiore Terme, nel Parmense, per celebrare i 70 anni di Ape, simbolo della Piaggio. Per tre giorni, da oggi fino a domenica 23 settembre, andrà in scena il raduno EuroApe 2018, un’appuntamento che servirà anche a tenere a battesimo il nuovo Ape 50 Euro 4 e la speciale versione in edizione limitata Ape Calessino 70. Organizzata da Ape club d’Italia in collaborazione con Piaggio veicoli commerciali, e con il patrocinio della città di Salsomaggiore Terme, la manifestazione avrà il suo cuore pulsante nell’Ape Village e nell’Ape Club Lounge. Da dieci anni EuroApe chiama a raccolta gli appassionati e amanti dell’Ape, un mezzo da lavoro, e non solo, unico al mondo. Nella cittadina emiliana ci saranno anche gli equipaggi del tour solidale “Apeggiando per l’Italia”, un viaggio on the road per la Penisola che terminerà proprio a EuroApe.
Raduno Ape Piaggio a Salsomaggiore

A “swarm” from all over Europe that has made an appointment at Salsomaggiore Terme, in the Parma area, to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Ape, the symbol of Piaggio. For three days, from today until Sunday, September 23rd, the EuroApe 2018 rally will be staged, an appointment that will also serve to baptize the new Ape 50 Euro 4 and the special limited edition Ape Calessino 70. Organized by Ape Italian club in collaboration with Piaggio commercial vehicles, and under the patronage of the city of Salsomaggiore Terme, the event will have its beating heart in the Ape Village and in the Ape Club Lounge. For the past ten years, EuroApe has been collecting enthusiasts and lovers of the Ape, a means of work, and not only, unique in the world. In the Emilian town there will also be the crews of the “Apeggiando per l’Italia” solidarity tour, an on the road trip to the Peninsula that will end at EuroApe.
