Lavazza has created an edible cup made of biscuit that can be eaten after drinking coffee.
Presented at Food Design in 2003, it has the same shape as the classic Lavazza coffee cup.
The interior of the cup is coated with a heat-resistant sugar glaze, which can tolerate the high temperature of the coffee and at the same time sweetens the coffee.
The idea is promising, because it would allow bars to save water and detergent and considerably reduce the impact on the environment. However, unfortunately, it has never been placed on the market and it is unclear whether it will ever be in the future.

Presentata al Food Design nel 2003, ha la stessa forma della classica tazzina da caffè Lavazza.
L’interno della tazzina è rivestito da una glassa di zucchero resistente al calore, che può tollerare l’alta temperatura del caffè e allo stesso tempo addolcisce il caffè.
L’idea è promettente, perché permetterebbe ai bar di risparmiare acqua e detersivo e di ridurre considerevolmente l’impatto sull’ambiente. Tuttavia, purtroppo, non è mai stata immessa sul mercato e non è chiaro se lo sarà mai in futuro.
